Here's the review I wish I had before I purchased this item. I have a Linear garage door receiver in my garage so I thought it would make sense to purchase this Linear remote. Instructions with the product are simple and accurate. I pressed the "learn" button on my receiver in the garage. A light came on next to the "learn" button on the receiver. I then pressed the single button on this new remote. Voila! The new remote opened the garage door. I then repeated the same process with a second new remote. Voila! The second new remote opened the garage door. I now have two new working remotes, and the process took me all of thirty seconds for both. I can't speak for other brands of receivers, but this is stupid proof if you have a Linear receiver with a "learn" button. I would assume that this works equally well with other brands so long as they have an identifiable "learn" button on the receiver and operate on the industry standard frequency. No dip switches; no trial and error; it works. Incidentally, the "learn" button enables the receiver to "learn" multiple codes, so you can have multiple remotes for a single garage door opener if you wish. Inexpensive product; easy to set; works great; what's not to love?
